so...

we met a girl named lynn this weekend. she's been a believer for a few years, but i got the feeling that she doesn't really fully understand what it means to be a follower of JC. she does have a copy of the Word and even though it's in English and Chinese, it is still very difficult for her to understand. please keep her in your thoughts and ask that Father will give her understanding of His Word. she lives a few hours away from where i live, so i probably won't get to see her much. please ask father to provide her with fellowship with other believers so that she will grow to really know Him. (on a side note...her description of me was "a nice tender lady." LOL :) )

weekend fun :)

in just the few months that i have been here, i have already done a lot of things i wouldn't normally do...and this weekend was no exception. friday night several teachers went to KTV (a karoake venue). here's how it works: you have a private room with a big long couch and a couple of coffee tables with a big tv on the wall and a computer in the corner. then you just pick out songs and sit around and sing! there were a few microphones that got passed around, but of course i avoided those :) it was a lot of fun...especially making fun of the music videos that went with the songs that i'm sure were from the 1980's!!

audra, mandy, me, and melinda singing our hearts out!!
(notice i'm the only one without a mic!)

well, i'm back in the States for a few weeks! my older sister is getting married, so here i am. i only told two people that i was gonna be in dallas, so everybody else was surprised to see me!! it's been fun just showing up and seeing the looks on everybody's faces!! it's weird that i'm just visiting...i still haven't quite gotten used to the fact that I LIVE IN CHINA!! anyway, it's good to see familiar faces and eat familiar food and speak a familiar language...although i seem to have forgetten some english already!
