It's 2:30 in the morning and I can't sleep...I can't sleep because I just traveled half way across the world and my body isn't tired...and I can't sleep because my mind is racing with a million thoughts...
I came back to the States to be with my family after receiving the news that my grandma was in the ICU. I took the first flight I could so that I could be with my family. We are all very overwhelmed and don't quite know how to respond or what to do. I like what my sister wrote here. It kind of explains how I feel. Even though I saw my grandma in the hospital, all I could think was that it couldn't be her. It just wasn't Gram.
As of tonight, Gram is still in the ICU. She is very restless. Her blood pressure has been pretty high, so they are trying to limit the number of visitors so that she won't get too excited. Please pray that Father will cover her with peace and that He will bring rest to her body. Her short term memory has been affected by the bleeding in her brain. The doctors aren't sure if it will be permanent or not. I am going back to the hospital tomorrow to see her. Hopefully I will be able to talk to her for a little bit, even though she may or may not remember who I am.
Please keep my family in your prayers.
Thanks,
Donna

We love you Donna. We are praying for you. Let us know if there's anything we can do. I definitely understand what you're talking about. And I remember that words didn't ever really do much good. Just know we're here for you.
You're awesome Donna. Such a servant...serving our family and Gram. You're a blessing. I love you so much and am so glad you're here. Thank for being with Gram so much. As she would say, "You're building your mansion in heaven."
